Fired Up Liverpool Icon Takes Jamie Carragher to Task Over Slot Controversy!

Mohamed Salah has made headlines with a bold critique aimed at Liverpool and head coach Arne Slot. He hasn’t held back in his frustration, taking particular aim at pundit Jamie Carragher and the English media.

This past Saturday, Salah found himself on the bench for the second time in three matches, as Liverpool faced Leeds United, ending in a 3-3 stalemate.

Despite being one of the most notable players in Liverpool’s roster, Salah has faced scrutiny while others, such as Ibrahima Konate and Cody Gakpo, continue to underperform. This situation raises eyebrows, especially given the lack of impact from summer signings like Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz, both valued at over £100 million.

Remaining silent through the struggles of the season, Salah chose to express his grievances post-match, speaking candidly to the media about his relationship with Slot and his feelings of being abandoned by the club.

He pointedly stated that he feels there is no longer any bond between him and the head coach, feeling betrayed in a way that has left him questioning the club’s loyalty.

Salah also highlighted Carragher, lamenting how pundits are quick to pick on him when his performance dips. In contrast, he argues that players like Harry Kane seem to escape similar levels of scrutiny.

In his post-match comments, Salah shared with reporters: “After what I have done for the club it really hurts. You can imagine, really. After going from home to the club and you don’t know if you are starting. I know the club too well; I have been here many years.”

He added, “Tomorrow Carragher is going to go for me again and again, and that’s fine.”

Continuing his passionate address, he stated, “I have been at this club, scoring more than anyone in this generation since I came to the Premier League. I don’t think anyone has scored more goals and made more assists than me in the whole Premier League.”

He expressed disappointment at feeling isolated in his struggle, asserting that if he were another player, the media would rally in defense of him. “If I am somewhere else, everybody would go to the media and defend the players. I am the only one in this situation,” he remarked.

Adding an analogy, he pointed out, “It’s silly but I am sorry. I remember a while ago, Harry Kane was not scoring for ten games; everyone in the media was like, ‘Oh, Harry will score for sure.’ When it comes to Mo, everyone is like, ‘He needs to be on the bench.’”

Expressing further frustration, Salah said, “It’s not acceptable for me. I don’t know why this is happening for me. I don’t get it.”

He emphasized that he has done enough for the club to not have to fight for his position daily. “I have done so much for this club. I don’t have to go every day fighting for my position because I earned it. I’m not bigger than anyone,” he explained.

Salah concluded his remarks with a heartfelt declaration of loyalty. “This club, I’ll always support it; my kids will always support it. I love the club so much. I always will do.”
