David Moyes has expressed confidence in the ability of Jack Grealish to regain his top form and lead Everton to a third consecutive win against Wolves on Saturday.
The on-loan Manchester City player was instrumental in securing both goals during Everton’s 2-0 victory over Brighton last weekend, and he also contributed an hour in the Toffees’ 2-0 Carabao Cup win against Mansfield.
Discussing Grealish before the team’s match at Molineux, Moyes noted: “He (Grealish) is a real talent and someone we’re hoping can get back to the levels he’s produced before.”
“He’s already been a help to us, and I hope we can continue to develop that, getting him fitter, stronger, and accustomed to playing again.”
Injuries to key players such as Jarrad Branthwaite, Nathan Patterson, Seamus Coleman, and Vitalii Mykolenko have constrained Moyes’ options on defense during the initial weeks of the season.
As the transfer deadline approaches, the Everton manager remarked: “We could potentially make more signings, but I don’t want to raise expectations too high all the time.”
“Whether we will secure anything by Monday night remains uncertain.”
Mykolenko, who participated in the cup match against Mansfield, might receive his first league start of the season under Moyes. However, Branthwaite, Patterson, and new addition Adam Aznou will remain sidelined.
