According to various sources, Marcus Rashford’s ‘entourage’ is contemplating significant measures to facilitate the forward’s departure from Manchester United this summer.
The future of the England international remains uncertain, as he seems to be on the way out due to Ruben Amorim not including him in his plans at United. Initially, it was believed that Amorim’s appointment would revitalize Rashford’s performance, particularly after he faced heavy criticism for his lackluster form and attitude over the past 18 months. However, following the arrival of the former Sporting Lisbon manager, his struggles continued.
Rashford reportedly clashed with Amorim regarding his attitude, leading to his exclusion from United’s lineup for December’s Manchester derby. Subsequently, he expressed his desire to leave the club he has been associated with since childhood in January.
The adaptable forward indicated that he was eager for a fresh start away from Manchester United, but his declining performance and substantial salary created obstacles, limiting his options during the January transfer window. Aston Villa eventually took a chance on Rashford toward the end of the window, and this proved beneficial as he regained form at Villa Park, netting four goals and providing six assists in 17 matches.
The Villans had an option to permanently sign Rashford for approximately £40 million this summer; however, the player chose not to commit to a longer stay at the Premier League side after they failed to qualify for the Champions League last season.
It has become apparent that Rashford harbors aspirations of joining Barcelona, with a move to the La Liga club appearing more feasible this summer than in January due to his revitalized form. Barcelona is reportedly in search of a winger after missing out on Nico Williams and Luis Diaz.
Rashford has recently resumed training but is working separately from the main squad while anticipating a transfer.
A recent report from Spanish media outlet Sport (via Sport Witness) sheds light on Rashford’s situation, noting that the situation between him and Manchester United is ‘growing increasingly tense.’

Currently, it has been observed that Rashford needs to access Manchester United’s training facility only after the rest of the squad has completed their sessions, with club officials reportedly confident in their compliance with regulations. Nonetheless, Rashford’s representatives have reportedly considered drastic avenues to finalize his exit. The report mentions that they are weighing whether his rights as a professional footballer under contract are being infringed upon, which could potentially lead him to sue the club to terminate his contract and receive his full wages until 2028.
Furthermore, it is suggested that the forward feels ‘increasingly convinced’ that he will depart Manchester United on loan this summer, as Barcelona and other interested parties currently seem hesitant to meet the club’s financial requirements.
