Reports indicate that a final ‘decision’ regarding Morgan Rogers’ future has been reached amid Tottenham Hotspur’s keen interest, as they remain ‘focused’ on two signings.
Brentford has commenced the 2025/26 season flawlessly, securing victories in their first two Premier League matches against Burnley and Manchester City.
New signings Mohammed Kudus and Joao Palhinha have made an immediate impact at Spurs, although further reinforcements are essential as they gear up for their Champions League comeback.
Tottenham’s primary objective is to acquire a new No.10 to cover the gap left by James Maddison, but they have recently missed out on Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze due to a tapping-up allegation and Arsenal’s interference.
Nonetheless, it has been suggested that the north London club could orchestrate a significant late transfer as they are connected with Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers.
Rogers, an England international, was among the standout players in the previous Premier League season; however, reports imply that Aston Villa may be compelled to sell their key asset this window due to their PSR concerns.
Still, GiveMeSport has reported that Villa has ‘decided’ to ‘price Rogers out of a last-minute move from Villa Park, as head coach Unai Emery has no plans to permit his exit’ while Spurs continue to ‘circle’.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has corroborated this information, outlining several potential alternatives as Tottenham remains “focused” on two key signings.
“For Spurs, the current focus is on finding a No.10 and a winger,” Romano stated on his YouTube channel.
“Spurs haven’t withdrawn from the table regarding Savinho yet, but it still hinges on Manchester City. The situation concerning Rodrygo and Man City – the only pathway for the Savinho deal to materialize – is yet to progress, as it depends on Rodrygo’s pricing, which is significantly higher than that of Savinho.
“This is why a green light has yet to be granted. It’s not advancing presently, but everything remains open.
“Tottenham has inquired about several players. They showed interest in Tyler Dibling but did not make a bid; he subsequently moved to Everton.
“They also contacted Xavi Simons, who has already reached an agreement with Chelsea. Morgan Rogers is an ideal target, but Villa is unwilling to sell, making it appear quite challenging.
“In the past 24-48 hours, they’ve explored options for other players, including Lucas Paqueta at West Ham and Semenyo at Bournemouth. The time to finalize decisions is nearing, and Spurs’ movements will definitely be worth monitoring as the transfer window closes.”
Additionally, Spurs are managing player exits, with Romano reporting on Monday that they have authorized Luka Vuskovic to depart.
He stated on X: “EXCL: HSV Hamburg has received the green light from Tottenham for Luka Vuskovic to join on loan.
“No buy option, just a straight loan, as he is viewed as a crucial part of the future project at #THFC and a significant talent.”
