Clarence Seedorf, the former AC Milan midfielder, has expressed his admiration for Weston McKennie.
Seedorf discussed his thoughts after witnessing McKennie and Juventus give it their all against Galatasaray in a thrilling Champions League playoff match.
Facing a challenging 5-2 deficit from the first leg, Juve pulled through to extra time before Galatasaray managed to seal the second leg with a score of 3-2, advancing 7-5 on aggregate.
Seedorf found himself particularly impressed by McKennie’s performance that night. He remarked, “I see qualities in him that remind me of my early career phases.”
He emphasized McKennie’s strengths: “He possesses tactical intelligence and shows eagerness to be involved, but most importantly, he shines in both aspects of the game.”
Turning his focus to Juve’s striker Jonathan David, Seedorf pointed out, “While the striker is crucial, when he struggles, the entire team must step up.”
He added, “David clearly has talent and is at Juventus for a reason. Relying solely on one striker isn’t wise; if he falters, the rest need to elevate their game.”
