Timeline Unveiled for Tottenham’s Search for New Manager Following Tudor’s Departure: A ‘Spurs Insider’ Insights

Igor Tudor has exited Tottenham by mutual consent, signaling a significant shift for the club. The news comes after a challenging six weeks under Tudor’s leadership, where the team recorded just one win, one draw, and five losses, leaving Spurs languishing in 17th place—only a point above relegation.

In an official statement, Tottenham confirmed, “It has been mutually agreed for Head Coach Igor Tudor to leave the Club with immediate effect.” Along with Tudor, Goalkeeping Coach Tomislav Rogic and Physical Coach Riccardo Ragnacci have also departed. The club expressed gratitude for their tireless work during this brief period.

The statement also acknowledged Tudor’s recent personal bereavement, offering support to him and his family during this difficult time.

Tottenham expert Alasdair Gold reported that the club anticipates appointing a new head coach within days. Spurs aim for the new manager to be in place by the time players return from international duties, allowing ten days for preparation ahead of their Premier League matchup against Sunderland.

In the interim, Coach Bruno Saltor will oversee training for the limited number of Tottenham players currently at Hotspur Way.

Sean Dyche, linked with a swift return to Premier League management after his recent dismissal from Nottingham Forest, dismissed the speculation regarding his interest in the role. Meanwhile, former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is among the favorites for the position, although he is expected to remain with the USMNT through the World Cup. Another top candidate, Roberto De Zerbi, also appears uninterested in taking over amidst a relegation battle.

This situation leaves Spurs likely searching for another interim solution. Names like Ryan Mason—who has been in the role twice—and Harry Redknapp have emerged as viable options.

Former Tottenham scout Bryan King has endorsed Chris Hughton for the role, citing his extensive knowledge and commitment to the club. King stated, “The situation isn’t solely about the managerial position. They need someone who can elicit a positive response from the players. It will be fascinating to see how Hughton would fare.” He also emphasized the need for immediate improvement in the backroom staff, asserting that this is as critical as resolving issues on the pitch.

King believes Hughton’s primary task would be leading substantial restructuring, crucial for Spurs’ future stability.
